Course Description:
Fundamentals of Brand Design is dedicated to enabling students to Learn, Understand, and Use the fundamentals of brand design. In this process, students combine Rational & Emotional imagination and systematically learn about logo design, color scheme customization, design style determination, and communication media design from a strategic perspective of branding to experience the complete design process of brand visual system.
The Sino-German College originally introduced the branding platform courses of the German University of Applied Sciences for Branding, and integrated the branding design courses into the learning process of the exhibition and advertising majors, helping students to have a global view of brand development.
In order to allow the students to communicate with the foreign teachers during the special period of the epidemic, the course was taught by three German teachers, Hendrik Moeller, Stefan Waller and Benjamin Vogt, in a combined online and offline way. The three German instructors had their own division of labor: Professor Hendrik was responsible for the online part of the course, while Stefan and Benjamin were mainly responsible for the offline face-to-face classroom lessons and individual tutoring.
During the course, two teachers from Sino-German College, Nan Zhou and Chen Lin, served as teaching assistants. In order to ensure that the course is "taught clearly and understood by students", and considering the fact that the students of MICE and advertising do not have design-related basic courses, this course also added professional software such as Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator in the form of workshops in addition to the formal course hours. In addition to the formal hours of the course, the course also added professional software such as Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator in the form of workshops. In addition, the foreign teachers also adjusted the teaching methods according to the actual professional background of the students.
This is a typical hands-on course in which students work in groups on a simulated brand design project throughout the course. The content is also carefully broken down into step-by-step practical assignments, where students are guided through the process of designing a brand identity: from the initial business idea to the final media presentation. Each weekly tutorial session is an opportunity to discuss and revise, and the teachers guide the students through the process of refining the details of their projects.
