Course Description:
The art of illustration is divided into artistic illustration and commercial illustration. Artistic illustration emphasizes the creator as the main body, expressing the inner sense of self and weakening the commercial appeal. Commercial illustration requires the creator to take the client (company or product) as the main body and strengthen the commercial demands. In the commercial illustration course, the ego is fictitiously trained as the client, and the analysis of the client's demands is transformed into the analysis of the ego's demands. In the practice, it is more direct, convenient and clear, and in the application, the analysis of the self-imposed demands will be transferred to the analysis of the customer's demands. In this way, we can achieve the target of commercial illustration design and avoid formal design. We explore the self until we reach the analysis of each other, and build up a training mode of commercial illustration art that is close to the heart, art is design with emotion, design is art with temperature!
Message from classmates:
Under my teacher's guidance and advice I started to look at more illustration artists' works and found a style I liked. The teacher was very strict with our images, and through several revisions we would find flaws that we hadn't noticed, and we would learn more about the uses and expressions of commercial illustration. Sometimes I struggled for a long time because I didn't have a good idea, but I was able to draw my own work that I was satisfied with through good work and repeated attempts and additions, which was very fulfilling. --Chiho Chi
