Our first practical course on cross-border school-enterprise cooperation|Chinese and German students tell the "China story" together

On October 10th, eight German students from the Hamburg University of Applied Sciences in Design and Communication (Hamburg, Germany) were invited to the first session of the "Chinese Culture and Chinese Brands" course for international students. Together with students from the Sino-German School of Design and Communication, they will conduct a month-long cross-cultural practical course and explore strategies to bring local brands to the international market in Ningbo creative enterprises.

The course was created by our university in collaboration with Ningbo design and communication companies. The first three partner companies are RuiBee Culture, Dongqian Lake Culture and Tourism Media and Risho Design. Through visits, interviews, research, lectures, workshops, seminars and project-based projects, the international students will learn about Chinese culture, the operation and development of modern Chinese companies and the needs of cross-cultural development of their brands, gain theoretical knowledge and experience of studying and working in Chinese cultural contexts, and acquire cross-cultural communication skills and teamwork abilities. The project-based projects of the course are conducted in groups, where German and Chinese students work together in teams and carry out their projects under the joint leadership of a professional mentor and a corporate mentor, with real problems. At the end of the project, the project proposal is presented to the partner company separately.

Qian Guoying, Vice President and Dean of Sino-German School of Design and Communication, said: "In order to tell the Chinese story, spread the Chinese voice and build a friendly platform for Sino-German cultural exchange, our school has innovated the form and content to offer a school-enterprise cooperation-based intercultural course for the first time. We hope to use this course as a bridge to improve the understanding and friendship between Chinese and German students, to train students to think in a 'community of human destiny' and to think cross-culturally, so that all students studying this course can become ambassadors of cultural exchange between Chinese and German youth. In the future, our school will continue to offer more intercultural courses of school-enterprise cooperation type, so that Chinese culture and Chinese brands can go to the world."

Our university will actively introduce international high-quality educational resources and continue to explore in the internationalization of education and higher education going out. In September this year, our university set up its first overseas campus in Hamburg, Germany, offering courses in Eastern philosophy, Eastern culture, Chinese language and literature for European students.
