On the evening of October 9, the last batch of 24 students from Sino-German College of Design and Communication (CDC) arrived at Shanghai Pudong Airport as scheduled, ready to embark on their 2-year study abroad in Germany. In Hamburg, Germany, 20 pre-arrival students, teachers from the German Brand University of Applied Sciences, and a new study life await them. Zhang Yiping, Vice President of Sino-German Academy, and Zhang Ji, Li Danwei, Gao Siyu and Liang Jia Nan, the teachers of the students' classes, also came to the airport to see them off.

In the laughter between teachers and students, the emotion of parting was gradually dispelled. In the airport lounge, students and parents who came to see them off exchanged words of comfort and advice. Vice President Zhang Yiping and the class teachers patiently answered questions for the students and parents, which made them feel more at ease and more confident to return home.

Vice President Zhang also expressed his expectations for the students who will be departing soon. He hoped that the students would continue their efforts in Germany, experience foreign cultures with the spirit of forward exploration, actively absorb international knowledge and skills, develop their global awareness in the process of studying and living, and become intercultural talents in the new era when they return.
What we see is the parents' advice to their children who will be away from home, the teachers' expectation and blessing to the students who will face the challenges and reap the wonderful life, and the mutual support among the students.

The year 2020 is destined to be an extraordinary year for the students of Wanli who are going to study in Germany. The support and understanding of teachers and parents, as well as the uninterrupted and meticulous communication and preparation between the Chinese and German schools across the time difference, are essential for them to be able to fly further in the shadow of the epidemic.

When the Chinese and German students arrive in Hamburg, the smooth handover and orientation, the comfortable food and accommodation, and the abundant teaching resources will be a solid guarantee for their new phase of study and life. The joint efforts of the German and Chinese schools will form a new starting point for the intercultural learning of these Chinese and German students.
